Youyi Shu, PhD
VP, Head of Biostatistics & Programming Youyi has 20+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience (Merck, Centocor/J&J, Teva, Janssen/J&J, BMS and Rafael). Previously, Youyi led the Biostatistics, Programming and Data Management functions at Rafael Pharmaceuticals. Prior to that, he managed a team of statisticians dedicated to design and analysis of oncology clinical trials at BMS and led the NDA/MAA submission of Apalutamide (ERLEADA®) for the treatment of non-metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer at Janssen. Youyi also worked at Teva as Head of Respiratory, Oncology and Cardiovascular Statistics, after serving as the Chair of the Biostatistics Committee, functioning essentially as the Acting Head of Global Biostatistics (with 30+ statisticians) and overseeing all statistical deliverables from global clinical development programs across 6 therapeutic areas. Youyi was an adjunct scholar (2003-2006) in the Department of Biostatistics & Epidemiology of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He received a BS degree in mathematical statistics from Fudan University (Shanghai, China) and a PhD degree in biostatistics from the Medical College of Wisconsin.
